Music video!

Over the weekend, we released our latest music video, directed by Zac Eubank!

Here are two of my favorite responses from Facebook:

I need a cold shower.  I want a cigarette ...and I've never smoked a day in my life.
     - Katie Van Luchene, Executive Editor at KC Magazine

Sexy indeed.  33 and a dirty old man, eh?  Walk a mile in my Sketchers, cousin.
     - Howard Kaylan, lead singer of the Turtles,

I bet you'll enjoy it, as well! ;)  Check it out!  And if you like it, share it!

Ninja Ninja Fight Darth Vader

Today, The Sexy Accident released Ninja Ninja Fight Darth Vader, our fourth full-length!

It's the best thing that I, personally, have ever made (not counting my kids. ;)

We tracked it last summer at WestEnd with our friend Steve Fisk.

I kept a detailed recording diary:
  • Day 1 - Steve's arrival, What We'd Do
  • Day 2 - Basics tracks, the joys of analog
  • Day 3 - Elaborate tones, OzFest
  • Day 4 - Completion of basics, recording with my son Toby
  • Day 5 - Wrapping up week 1, You're Not Alone [Acoustic]
  • Day 6 - Social media ban
  • Day 7 - Overdubs for Love Doesn't Get Old, blown car battery
  • Day 8 - Lots of vocals, Russell Thorpe plays sax
  • Day 9 - Interludes for the You're Not Alone EP, old-timey mic techniques
  • Day 10 - Wrapping up and celebrating
The whole thing started in March, 2010, when I wrote "I Guess I'll Never Know" while driving home from a show in Columbia, MO.  Just over two years ago!

Thanks to Vinyl Renaissance and Erik Voeks for inviting us to participate in Record Store Day.  I can't think of a better place to launch this thing than the record shop around the corner from my house! ;)

And of course thanks to Daniel Torrence, Camry Ivory, Michael Young and Mark Hamblin!

Have a great day, everyone.  Watch out for Ninjas!  And Vader.

Jesse
