The haps

Sorry for the lack of updates. We're actually quite busy!

We've decided to go into the studio in late Jan/early Feb and record three new songs. This will be the first of three recording sessions wherein we'll make our new record. It's all very exciting. If you liked Tourism (and even if you didn't), you're going to love this new stuff. We're taking the drive and "pop" factors up to level 9. I've never been so excited about a batch of new material.

The songs that we're going to be recording first are:

1. Dancing with my friends
2. Stall
3. Abigail

Fans of our live shows will recognize Dancing with my friends as the super awesome song that gets everyone well, dancing... And we played Stall at our last show at the Farm. Abigail has not yet seen the light of day.

Anyway, just wanted to post an update. Remember, Sexy Accident T-shirts make fantastic Christmas Gifts. After all, who doesn't want a super-comfy, sweatshop-free, burgundy shirt with the phrase "The Sexy Accident" emblazoned in gold across the front? We're all sexy, yes?

We also have really cool buttons.

This Friday @ The Farm

Hello everyone,

Happy fall! The leaves are turning the color of turning leaves here in Kansas City. And we've been carving mid-sized gourds to frighten evil spirts. The other day, the munchkins stopped by and demanded confections one by one. It was quite perplexing, seeing as the munchkins live in munchkin land, 'til we noticed the cars that were carrying them hither and thither and realized that all of those poor human drivers had been carjacked by angry munchkins. What is the world coming to?!

In band news, we now have a new drummer. Doug Chandler has ascended to the throne left vacant by Billy Brown (who was clearly not a munchkin, but rather a giant or a troll). Doug brings with him sticks, two toms, a snare, cymbals and a bunch of shiny metal things with joints. He hits them and makes a lot of noise, but less noise than Billy, except that, really, there's more noise because he's hitting things faster sometimes, just not as hard.

You can hear the new band this Friday at the Farm Gallery in the crossroads as part of KC's monthly "First Fridays in the Crossroads" art event. We'll play around 8, or maybe 8:30 or 8:12. And it's entirely possible that we'll sound more "accidental" than ever given that we're more or less a brand new band at the moment, just with more songs to learn. So if you missed one of our early shows, now's your chance to experience the magic! We promise to have fun if you do.

Hope to see you there!
