KC X Fest

Tomorrow I will kick off the KC X Fest at the Downtown Neon Gallery. The X Fest is a a celebration of neon art, poetry, improvisational dance and experimental music organized by Brother Iota, Kansas City's space music ensemble.

This show will mark the one year anniversary of my first live guitar loop performance at the Cup and Saucer. This won't be my last loop show, but I expect to play the Sleight of Hand material less and less frequently as I've already written an album's worth of "rock" songs for the new band (we will debut soon!)

It'll also be First Fridays in the Crossroads, so come down for a full evening of art, music, poetry and dance. Here's the complete festival lineup:

Friday, May 6th

Jesse Kates (amazing looping guitarist) 8 to 9 p.m.
Michelle Brown, Kacico Contemporary Dance (improvisation) 9 to 9:30 p.m.
